March at Tefaf Maastricht stand 112

Alonso Berruguete's St Peter and St Paul return to IOMR after two years at the Louvre

September 2022.

We are gratefull to the "Commission des acquisitions du Louvre" who gave his approval to the acquisition project on 18 May 2022, to the "Département de sculptures du Louvre" in particular to Sophie Jugie and to the C2RMF for its "rapport de Laboratoire" undertaken during its consignment.
The Louvre renounced at last moment to continue with the acquisition procedure of the Alonso Berruguete's pair of sculptures.
The IOMR will continue his plans to promote the universalization of Alonso Berruguete, as the most important artist of Spanish Renaissance and one of the founders of European Mannerism.
